Alienware has made their desktop suites available as a free download or pre-installed with the purchase of a new computer system.

Alienware systems are universally known for exclusive customization options like distinctive cases and one-of-a-kind colors. Now Alienware has taken this creativity to a new level by licensing Stardock's Theme Manager technology to extend Alieware's unique style to the Microsoft® Windows® operating system desktop. Alienware is the first and only system manufacturer to pre-load AlienGUIse™ Theme Manager on all new systems, giving you the opportunity to display incredible looking Alienware-centered skins such as AlienMorph™ and ALXMorph™, created by The Skins Factory.

Best of all, it’s free of charge!

Looks absolutely awesome! Kudos to Alienware for releasing this to the general public. I hope they get their server going so that it downloads at more than 1kb/sec though. Great job Skins Factory

Brad has said that if it gets cold this winter, I'll be getting a flat rock that I can warm at the office and take home with me at night. It also apparently doubles as a pizza-stone. SCORE.

Nakor: okay now i'm jealous.

Great theme. All I can say is thanks Skin Factory and Stardock, and ALIENWARE ROCKS!!!

And to reiterate who did the work on these skins - WMP, Icons and WB? The best artists in the world!

OK, OK, it's sweet, we know it...now go do like DWatson and take a nap!

He, he, kudos Skins Factory, nicely done.

I would be happy to host the download for a while if someone can send it over and if its alright with Alienware and the skins factory. I have plenty of BW on a dedicated server.

Please email me off list russ at angry-fly dot com if you would like for me to mirror it.

I'm confused... there are skin submissions for the icon package and two wb skins that all link to a single installer (hosted off-site). I don't want the installer and I don't want all that encompasses the skin suite. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to either use this news article as the vehicle to promote the work rather than misleading people into thinking they can pick what they want from here? I say this not to interject negativity. I like the look of the icons and would very much like to use them separate from the AlienGUI theme manager. It's all very cumbersome, and it shouldn't be. Also, it'd be a lot less pressure on Alienwares servers if the individual parts of the suite were available here and elsewhere. I'm sure my logic isn't too far askew. Let me know what you think.

Additionally, I already have Object Desktop and Theme Manager. I've always had problems with Theme Manager crashing my system, if this is only available as a .suite, then that leaves me in limbo all over again.

EMF: that's really nice of you. I think they're going to be able to handle it.

Attila: It's released as a set and not as individual downloads.

BTW...

SysMetrix 'Singularity' looks awesome with it...

One more quick question, can I load toolbar icons to my browser with this?

I tried, and it didn't quite work...

Am I missing something there?

Great suite, as usual from TSF! Incredibly nice of Alienware to release it to the public. Just wondering, who chose the name "AlienGUIse"? How the heck do you pronounce it?

The Skins Factory,

No problem! The offer stands for me to mirror it. I own several servers in theplanet datacenter so I have the resources. If you decide you need a mirror, let me know anytime. As of 7:02pm EST it's still unavailable from alienware site.

Okay I dont get it cuz I must be a moron...Every time I enter in my email, it just blips really fast then sends an email to my account about a 90 day free trial to some game..Where do I go to get the Download link at, cuz the link from this page doesnt work...
on Aug 26, 2004
I went over to download it, I put in my email, and nothing happened? Will they email me a link or something? If the server is down or something, thats cool, I can check back later. Its just very nice of them to give it to us for free! I've already planned to make my next computer an alien! Thats before they gave away the skin though... good company.

TaoX, right now it doesn't look like they are emailing it, they will email you a key for a 90 - free subscription to Gamespot as a thank you, but this is not for the file

The file SHOULD start after you hit the submit button, but appears to still be down at this time.

Oh yes, MAKE SURE ALL pop-up blockers are disabled .... that's where I was having problems
