Alienware has made their desktop suites available as a free download or pre-installed with the purchase of a new computer system.

Alienware systems are universally known for exclusive customization options like distinctive cases and one-of-a-kind colors. Now Alienware has taken this creativity to a new level by licensing Stardock's Theme Manager technology to extend Alieware's unique style to the Microsoft® Windows® operating system desktop. Alienware is the first and only system manufacturer to pre-load AlienGUIse™ Theme Manager on all new systems, giving you the opportunity to display incredible looking Alienware-centered skins such as AlienMorph™ and ALXMorph™, created by The Skins Factory.

Best of all, it’s free of charge!

You might disable your firewall too if you have one active. I was having problems downloading updates for Nero v6 until I allowed all ports!

Yes, Stopzilla was the man..It was the problem. I turned it off and now its DL just fine..Thanx Guys..

Nope, still no luck... Firewall's off, popup stopper's off, anti-virus clients off, still no DL... dosn't even start opening a DL window. Tried with Firefox, Maxthon, and IE, all the same.

Looks like they've got a nice tool to harvest email address from though.

It asks for your email? You disabled your firewall to access it? Oh crap, I don't want Alienware promotions. Boy, those icons sure look nice and crisp. Hmm, ok, I fed it a bogus email and it hasn't done anything yet. Do I have to confirm that I want spam or something? I'm sticking to my assertion that this is a whole lot just to get some desktop eyecandy.

I think it might be easier just to buy an alien system

The deisgn and work is awesome, my only issue is you only package it for XP. I am running Win200Pro and it is a real bummer to see all this and can't use it my self, crap.
Can you give some of us a break? I like the one you did for ATI as well but same issue XP only gee thanks.

Has anyone been able to get it recently (last few hours).........

I have turned everything off and after entering my email I get a blank screen where in the status bar says its opening (the address here)
and it just sits there and eventually times out.

Have tried on IE OPERA anf Firefox

I even tried on a mac and nada... But I do have about 15 90 day subscriptions to Gamespot....

Hey, any of you guys have an Alienware machine now? I just ordered one recently and it is in phase 5 of their build process. Sure hope it arrives here with the theme allready installed. Plus I hope the machine works good. Kinda scary when you research and read some of the negative stuff. Should be shipped sometime around 9/10 if nothing holds it up. Looking forward to machine and the new theme....looks like Skin Factory did a great job.

Boy, I wish I could afford an alienware system.... and Herman .. don't worry too much from what I hear they are one of the BEST systems out there, and no matter who you actually buy from someone will have a horror story to tell, its the OVERALL opinion that matters. Hope that helps a little...... just waiting around to try the link again in a few minutes......

Thanks culverSE.
I have a Dell 8200 that I have had for 3 years and have really wanted to get an Alienware for a long time. Just decided what the heck, can pay on it just as well as go buy something else and pay on that. Gaming is my main hobby afterhours so I decided to go for it. Took me about a week of filling in the online configuration to get the guts to hit the "Place Order" button. Told my wife my mouse cursor was hoovering around the Place Order button and I accidently hit it by mistake. For those of you who do not know, Alienware has a price reduction similiar to Dell's price match. Within 7 days of ordering my machine, the price dropped $224. Called them up and they credited me back that amount. Credit was on my card yesterday when I checked. So far, they have been great people to deal with. Hope that continues.

Thanks for the info Herman, I'm in the market for a new system but never considred Alienware. Now I might. They're just so expensive, compared to newegg components and building one myself. But I guess it's a niche type thing. Anyone have luck getting the skin suite yet?

Alienware has some lower cost PC solutions that still pack a punch. You should check them out. Nice stuff.

Carol: thanks for the really kind words.

People: this will get fixed you just need to be patient.
