IconDeveloper is a program that lets users easily create their own Windows icons. IconDeveloper is different because it is designed in such a way so that non-technical users can also create icons.

With IconDeveloper, does NOT include its own icon editor. Instead, it focuses on making it easy for users to take existing images from any source and turn them into icons quickly and easily. An image copied into the clipboard can be pasted as an icon. It can load up virtually any common graphic format type up and turn them into icons.

It supports the new Windows XP icon format which supports alpha blended edges and more. It also seamlessly integrates with IconPackager and can import icons embedded in EXEs, DLLs, and elsewhere.

IconDeveloper 1.1 has a simpler to use interface and the freeware version includes more features. IconDeveloper is freeware. An enhanced version is also available that enables serious icon creators to change the colors of icons as well as perform various batch operations (make changes to entire groups of icons at once). The enhanced version is also part of Stardock's Object Desktop.

IconDeveloper's home page is www.icondeveloper.com

The cost would go way up if we had to develop a graphics editor with it because we wouldn't be content to put in just a basic one.

Brad, Is it possible using IconD. to somehow copy the "surfer guy" that makes up one of the icons on the WinCus browser? It's the icon with "News/Web Browser" to the left side with "Chat", "My Account", etc. I'd love to have him as my ISP icon on my desktop because I use surfside.net. I would ONLY have this for my own personal use. I don't want to infringe on WinCustomize copyright material. Thx!

George, make a screenshot of the WC window, and crop it to the 32x32 pixels you want to turn into an icon. Save it as a bitmap or copy it to clipboard. Then, depending on what you did, select:
File -> New -> Icon from image in clipboard
OR
drop the image from Explorer on IconDeveloper and it will let you turn it into an icon. Just select an apropriate color as a transparent color pressing the button pointed at in the following screen:
