Turn-based fantasy card game brings magic to TotalGaming

Plymouth, MI- (August 23, 2005) -- Game publisher Stardock Entertainment has added the game Astral Masters to its electronic distribution system, TotalGaming.net. Astral Masters is the spiritual successor to Apus Software’s Astral Tournament, which was released in September 2002. In Astral Masters, two players compete in a turn-based fantasy card game, similar to Magic: the Gathering.

There are three modes of gameplay in Astral Masters: Single Duel, League and Multiplayer. In the Single Duel game, the player uses either a high-level, random deck of cards, or can use a deck of their own creation against the AI opponent. League mode places the player in a tournament setting with two pre-generated decks and the ability to create many more. Multiplayer mode allows gamers to battle against a friend via LAN or Hotseat, with Internet play coming soon. Once a player has chosen a deck and started a duel, the real fun begins. Each mage has six creature slots in which to summon their cards; with three main attributes they need to keep track of during a duel: life, astral power and mana.

Astral Masters can be purchased standalone for $19.95, or at a low cost of only 2 tokens with a TotalGaming.net membership. Either way, once a player purchases and downloads a game, it’s theirs to keep forever. If a player gets a new computer they can download a new copy and install it with no DRM hassles.

System Requirements: 400MHz Processor, 60MB RAM, 32MB Video Card, Windows 98/Me/XP, DirectX 8+
