Alienware has made their desktop suites available as a free download or pre-installed with the purchase of a new computer system.

Alienware systems are universally known for exclusive customization options like distinctive cases and one-of-a-kind colors. Now Alienware has taken this creativity to a new level by licensing Stardock's Theme Manager technology to extend Alieware's unique style to the Microsoft® Windows® operating system desktop. Alienware is the first and only system manufacturer to pre-load AlienGUIse™ Theme Manager on all new systems, giving you the opportunity to display incredible looking Alienware-centered skins such as AlienMorph™ and ALXMorph™, created by The Skins Factory.

Best of all, it’s free of charge!

@ DWATSON

Hey Skins Factory, who made the icons and windows theme?
on Aug 26, 2004
Got your email Jeff, actually happy you made me wait, it's become the first theme in on a fresh install of XP Pro. No more popups...Mwuahahaha!
Will have to do something about my cable though, it's running slower. Took a while to download this, but it hasn't left my system and probably never will Well everyone, I'm gonna go take a nap.

Server down...

Icons and Windows theme was created by our in-house staff.

Give Alienware some time to work out the server issues. This is a very large download that wasn't originally intended to be released in this way. It was originally intended to be pre-installed on their desktops only. The guys/gals there are extremely cool to be releasing this for free to everyone else. I think they deserve a little patience while they rectify some of the "kinks". So be patient and enjoy. It was a long creation process and my guys, Alienware and Stardock deserve a lot of props for the very hard work it took to bring this to fruition. We really hope you enjoy the suite as much as we did creating it.

Are there any compatibility problems between this theme manager and windowblinds?
Is there somewhere windowblind users can just download the skins?
on Aug 26, 2004
shouldn't be
on Aug 26, 2004
My question is: What am I doing wrong? This is supposed to be an actual program similar to Windows Blinds, no?

The only way I can get anything out of it is to use Windows Blinds to pull the 2 skins out.

I can't get the icons or the program out.

I did extract the folder from the zip and install it, but it just sat there in my program files doing nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shawn

You'll have to email stardock for tech support.

It's OEM versions of WindowBlinds, IconPackager, and ThemeManager that require signed skins for use.

If you already have Object Desktop, just install ThemeManager, WB, and IP like normal. Run the AlienGUIse installer and the .suite's should be installed for use with ThemeManager.

The .suite's are renamed zip's, they have dirs with the icon packages, WindowBlinds visual style, and WMP skin inside them.
